John Yokley

CEO, PTFS, Inc.

John Yokley is the President and CEO of Progressive Technology Federal Systems Inc. (PTFS Inc.) located in Bethesda Maryland. Mr. Yokley has over 25 years’ experience in the field of engineering management and information technology consulting for government and industry. Mr. Yokley co-founded PTFS in 1995 with a mission to provide automation, systems integration and digitization services to libraries and government agencies.

Under Mr. Yokley's management, PTFS been providing services to libraries for over 15 years and has produced the digital asset management application, ArchivalWare. Through PTFS, Mr. Yokley has been a contributor to the information technology transformation, with an emphasis on library automation, over the last 15 years. Continuing on this path Mr. Yokley envisions the integration of ArchivalWare with Open Source ILS software to provide a true Digital Library System (DLS) capable of managing physical as well as electronic materials to include digital documents, photograph’s, digital video, e-books etc.

In the 80's Mr. Yokley worked closely with several military initiatives and built computer based simulators and trainers for the military application. He later served as the Director for Business Development at Kestrel Associates, Inc., where he developed and delivered engineering strategies and solutions. Mr. Yokley is a graduate from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (1980) and from the George Washington University with a Masters in Engineering Administration (1985).

 

Patrick Jones

Executive Director, LibLime

Patrick Jones, a degreed librarian, has been involved in the evaluation, selection, deployment, development, and support of commercial and open source ILS applications for over 17 years. Employment at PTFS, Dynix, SirsiDynix, Endeavor, and OCLC has provided Patrick with an in-depth understanding of all aspects of the industry.

Patrick has worked with Federal Librarians for 12 years, has given him a broad background in formal proposal submission, federal procurement processes, and security certification programs. A member of SLA since 1993, Patrick brings a librarian’s approach to solving the challenges of describing, disseminating, and discovering cultural collections

 

Sean McIntyre

Engineering Manager, LibLime

Sean McIntyre has a degree from MIT and over 20 years of software and system development experience. Sean has managed teams that have produced a variety of commercial and government applications across a broad range of platforms and technologies. A notable accomplishment of Sean's is the successful re-architecting, development, and deployment of the AOL News website; AOL's most frequently hit site.

Sean has spent the majority of his career developing open source based solutions, including XML-based content management systems and security applications. Sean provides PTFS with both highly technical capabilties and proven SDLC processes, including the Agile processes used at PTFS.

 

Susan Buchanan

In her role at LibLime, Susan Buchanan helps libraries to identify long-term software strategies and open-source solutions to meet their needs.
Susan comes to LibLime from SirsiDynix (formerly Sirsi Corporation) where she served as Vice President, Strategic Accounts. Susan has over 30 years experience in the library industry. She began her library career at the University of Alberta in the Serials department and then went on to serve as manager of computer services for North York Public Library in Toronto Canada--then the third largest public library in Canada. She has also held senior positions with DRA (Data Research Associates), Ex Libris, and Endeavor.  Susan has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta.

Mr. Rose is a library professional with over 15 years of experience in library and information systems. He is an expert in many integrated library systems, including Horizon, Koha and Voyager. He has an aptitude for technology that allows him to understand the technical operations of an ILS, not just operate as an end user. In addition to his technical and library skills, he has excellent customer service skills that have earned him high praise from the customers he serves.

 

Anthony J. Berkant

 

Vice President, Finance and Contracts

Anthony C. Berkant is Vice President of Finance and Contracts. Tony directs PTFS’ finance department and manages all processing of contracts. Tony brings significant experience in budgeting, financial analysis, internal management reporting, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, and international accounting and reporting.

Previously, Tony served as the Vice President of Finance and Administration for the Lincoln Group in Washington D.C. Tony has also worked as the Chief Financial Officer for Wilson/Bennett Company LLC, Chief Financial Officer for Strategic Advisors, LLC, and Controller for Accelera Corp. He holds a B.S. in Accounting from Wilkes University and became Maryland Certified Public Accountant in 1977.

 

Dan Quinn

Vice President, Sales and Marketing

Dan Quinn is currently the VP, Sales & Marketing for PTFS, Inc. where he has leads sales, marketing, and business development activities. Dan has more than 30 years of experience as a sales and marketing executive with a successful track record in business development in industries such as energy, information technology, utilities, and chemical, and in corporations with an extensive global reach. His involvement spans from start-ups to growth, to more mature organizations-with budgets ranging from $2M - $2B.

Dan also served as an energy subject matter expert for Cap Gemini Ernst & Young (CGE&Y) and developed service line offerings for the energy, chemical, and utility industries. Specifically, Dan supported and helped structure the sales and delivery of two large B2B marketplaces: Elemica for the chemical industry and Enporion for the utility industry. Previous to this, Dan held 20 different positions spanning a 22-year career at Mobil Oil. Dan worked cross-functionally in the upstream, downstream and midstream business in most enclaves of the world, supporting disciplines such as operations, sales and marketing, global procurement and strategic sourcing, trading, analysis, a variety of supply chain activities, and eBusiness. Dan has a B.S. in Chemistry from Bates College, Lewiston, Maine, and an MBA in Finance and Economics from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania.

 

Brett Smith

Vice President, Engineering

Brett Smith leads the engineering and program management office for PTFS and has over 20 years of experience developing systems for commercial and government application. During Brett's current tenure, PTFS has successfully released four new versions of ArchivalWare and created several add-on modules.

Prior to joining PTFS, Brett was creating sensor solutions for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and DoD agencies. Brett operated an engineering company for 10+ years in Research Triangle Park and has spent many years developing distributed and embedded applications for the telecommunications and data communications market.

Brett has a BSEE from West Virginia University, an MS in Computer Engineering from North Carolina State University and is a certified PMP.
